The Ward Is Open.
St. Jude's Psychiatric Institute is a dark fantasy NFT collection living on BASE blockchain, built into the Meme Asylum ecosystem. Nine of the most infamous, brilliant and dangerous minds in history — each committed, each collected, each playable in the upcoming Ward Watch game.
This is not a profile picture collection. This is a case file.
What Is the St. Jude's Psychiatric Institute Collection?
St. Jude's Psychiatric Institute is an open edition NFT collection minted on BASE — the same chain that powers Meme Asylum and $ECT. Every card features one of nine characters across five tiers of rarity, each with a unique background scene drawn from their real-world arc.
The collection has 3,920 unique card combinations generated from character variations, background scenes and tier frames. No two cards are identical. Every card carries seven gameplay stats that feed directly into Ward Watch — the live multiplier game built on top of every Meme Asylum voting cycle.
Your NFTs are not decoration. They are weapons.
The Nine Characters
Every character in St. Jude's has a complete five-tier story arc — from their origin to their padded cell. The tier you pull determines where in their story you find them.
The Charmer — Bundy
Handsome. Charming. Warm. The kind of man who makes you feel like the only person in the room. Beneath the perfect social mask lay a calculating predator operating in 1970s America. Despite multiple trials he represented himself with shocking confidence and escaped custody twice. His charm never wavered even as the walls closed in. Eventually caught, convicted, committed to St. Jude's. He's still smiling.
Arc: T1 Campus predator → T2 Active crimes → T3 Courtrooms → T4 Capture & escape → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Charisma · High Stealth · High Intelligence Game Role: Social predator — charisma-based attacks Alignment: Pro-Rioter
The Manifesto — Ted
A child prodigy accepted to Harvard at 16. Mathematics professor at 25. Then he walked away from all of it. Retreating to a primitive cabin in the Montana wilderness with no electricity and no phone, he spent years writing his manifesto against industrial society. Over 17 years he mailed increasingly sophisticated devices to academics and executives. The FBI's longest manhunt ended when his own brother recognised his writing. Arrested at his cabin. The manifesto is still in print.
Arc: T1 Academic genius → T2 Isolation & workshop → T3 The packages → T4 Hunted & captured → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Intelligence · Maximum Stealth · Maximum Will Power Game Role: Silent operator — stealth and intelligence builds Alignment: Pro-Rioter
The Dictator — Trump
Born into wealth in 1946 New York. Built a property empire. Became a television celebrity. Then shocked the world by winning the presidency. His second term unleashed his most authoritarian instincts. Multiple criminal indictments followed. Then trial. Then conviction. The most powerful man in the world ended up in a cell, then a straitjacket, in St. Jude's Psychiatric Institute. He is still convinced he won everything.
Arc: T1 Property empire → T2 Celebrity & presidency → T3 Indictment & trial → T4 Current era chaos → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Charisma · Maximum Corruption · Maximum Will Power · Near Zero Stealth Game Role: Loud aggressor — will and corruption builds Alignment: Pro-Whale
The Fugitive — McAfee
Brilliant computer scientist. Created the world's first commercial antivirus software and sold it for hundreds of millions. Then retreated to Belize, built an armed compound, became a person of interest in a murder case and fled into the jungle. Ran for US president twice. Became a crypto evangelist. Finally arrested in Spain. In the St. Jude's universe — alive, reclined in his Faraday room, one cigarette burning, the conspiracy board behind him, completely content.
Arc: T1 Tech genius & millionaire → T2 Belize exile → T3 Crypto & fugitive era → T4 Arrest & cell → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Insanity · Maximum Intelligence Game Role: Wild card — unpredictable rolls Alignment: Pro-Rioter
The Doctor — The Shrink
A brilliant female psychiatrist whose career mirrors the darkness she was supposed to treat. Her clinical detachment became something darker — unauthorised drug trials, then lobotomies without consent. When investigations began she seduced the head of the medical board before the tribunal convened. The hearing was rigged. She was appointed Director of St. Jude's. Until the day her own mind turned against her and she found herself on the other side of the padded cell door.
Arc: T1 Medical school & residency → T2 Cold detachment & obsession → T3 Experiments & cover up → T4 Seduction, tribunal & Director → T5 Becomes a patient Core Stats: Maximum Intelligence · Maximum Corruption · Maximum Will Power Game Role: Healer — the only card that can repair zap damage Alignment: Neutral
The Chaplain
A genuine man of faith who arrived at St. Jude's believing God had called him to save souls in the darkest place imaginable. But years inside corrupted him slowly. He started passing patient confessional secrets to The Shrink in exchange for her protection. Then he crossed the final line — conducting unauthorised rituals on patients at night, vestments stained with whiskey and blood. A patient recorded everything. Defrocked. Arrested. His first night in the padded cell he got down on his knees and prayed. Old habits.
Arc: T1 Ordination & calling → T2 Arrival & ministry → T3 Drinking, informant & rituals → T4 Blood on hands, recorded & arrested → T5 Patient in Male Ward M Core Stats: High Charisma · High Insanity · High Corruption · Low Stealth Game Role: Survivor — recovers losses Alignment: Neutral
The Yuppie — Bateman
An obsessively groomed Wall Street investment banker in 1980s Manhattan. The perfect mask concealing absolute emptiness beneath. His business card was a weapon of social dominance. At peak career he was the most dangerous man in any room — not because anyone suspected him, but because nobody did. Reality and fantasy blurred completely. Arrested on a Manhattan street. In the padded cell he asks himself — was any of it real?
Arc: T1 Morning ritual & business card → T2 Peak career & power lunch → T3 Raincoat, axe & confession → T4 Detective, unraveling & arrest → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Charisma · Maximum Insanity · High Strength · High Intelligence Game Role: Glass cannon — high damage, high risk Alignment: Pro-Whale
The Gatekeeper — Daisy
The invisible woman at the front desk. The one nobody looked at twice. Behind the wire-rimmed glasses and the mousy brown hair was someone else entirely — sharp, calculating, completely in control of the most dangerous building in the country. She didn't just work at St. Jude's. She ran it. The day they took her glasses off in the booking room was the day everyone finally understood what they had been walking past for years.
Arc: T1 The invisible woman → T2 Building the network → T3 Operating everything → T4 Exposed & arrested → T5 The transformation complete Core Stats: Maximum Stealth · Maximum Will Power · Maximum Corruption · Minimum Charisma Game Role: Team feeder — ward-mate booster Alignment: Pro-Whale
The Vigilante — Luigi
Ivy League educated. Wealthy background. The system made him — and then he turned on it. He built a meticulous research case against healthcare executives, crypto whales, NFT manipulators. He assembled a ghost gun. On December 4th 2024 at 6:44am he stood outside the New York Hilton Midtown and left three brass casings on the pavement. Each inscribed: DELAY. DENY. DEPOSE. Found five days later eating breakfast at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Completely calm. The mugshot broke the internet.
Arc: T1 Ivy League & awakening → T2 Research, manifesto & preparation → T3 The act & five days on the run → T4 McDonald's, arrest & mugshot → T5 St. Jude's Core Stats: Maximum Stealth · Maximum Will Power · Maximum Intelligence Game Role: Whale hunter — targets top holders Alignment: Pro-Rioter
The Tier System
Every card belongs to one of five tiers. Your tier determines your card's frame, its rarity and its base Card Power in Ward Watch.
Tier Frame Rarity Mint Probability Card Power T1 Wood Common 40% 1–6 T2 Steel Uncommon 30% 2–7 T3 Silver Rare 18% 3–8 T4 Gold Epic 8% 4–9 T5 Diamond Legendary 3.6% 5–10
Card Power = Tier base + Featured Trait stars. A T5 card with 5 stars in the Featured Trait contributes 10 points to the Ward Watch meter. Ten T1s can out-push one maxed T5 — turnout beats inventory.
The Seven Stats
Every card carries seven stats rated 1 to 5 stars. These are not decorative — they feed directly into Ward Watch gameplay.
Stat What It Determines Charisma Social attack strength Insanity Unpredictability modifier Stealth Ability to avoid targeting Will Power Resistance to zap damage Strength Physical attack power Intelligence Strategic ability Corruption Manipulation strength
The cycle's Featured Trait is drawn randomly each phase. If your card has high stars in the Featured Trait, its Card Power in Ward Watch is maximised.
The One of One Cards
Two sets of 1/1 cards exist in the collection — neither available through standard minting.

Released separately via auction. Never minted. Never repeated.
How to Mint
St. Jude's is an open edition collection — there is no hard cap. The mint runs until the team closes it. Every mint pulls a random combination from the available pool weighted by tier probability.
Standard mint: Connect wallet at https://app.memeasylum.com/games/nfts/ and mint. Tier is determined by the probability weights above.
Section 17 Passes: Free mint passes distributed through community giveaways. Four types available — each unlocks a different minting option.
The Section 17 Passes
Named after the asylum's unescorted leave protocol, Section 17 passes are the key to free mints. Four types exist, each with a distinct look and utility.
Standard S17 Pass Cream aged paper. Red rubber stamp. Entitles holder to one free T1-T3 mint. The most common pass type distributed through community giveaways.
Character S17 Pass Same aesthetic as standard but with a blue stamp and a faint straitjacket watermark. Entitles holder to spawn a specific character of their choice at standard tier probability. You choose the character — the tier is still random.
Upper Tier S17 Pass Dark charcoal card stock, silver foil lettering. Entitles holder to one guaranteed T3-T5 mint. Minimum Silver frame. Could be Gold or Diamond. Tier within that range is still weighted.
Golden S17 Pass Deep black card stock, full gold foil. The rarest pass. Entitles holder to one free T4-T5 mint — and access to a special 1/1 character available only to Golden pass holders. Details to be announced.
The Ward Watch Game
Your NFTs are not collectibles. They are weapons in a live multiplier game running on top of every Meme Asylum voting cycle.
Ward Watch is a live CCTV-style floor plan of St. Jude's Psychiatric Institute. Every wallet in the cycle is a dot moving around the asylum. Every NFT card you hold is a zap you can play against another wallet.
The core mechanic: Q1 and Q2 wallets — the Lunatics — collectively build Riot Power by playing their cards. Q3 and Q4 wallets — the defenders — build Barricade Health. If Riot Power reaches Barricade Health before voting closes, the mint multipliers flip. The bottom 50% earn the top 50% multipliers.
Your NFT tier determines your Card Power. Higher tier cards push the meter further. The Featured Trait drawn each cycle determines which stat is measured — if your cards score high in that trait, they hit harder.
The Lunatics Have Taken Over — a special event announced when voting opens. A Prime Character is randomly selected and the rules of the flip change for that cycle. Luigi as Prime means no protection for whales. Trump as Prime means whales can burn ECT to buy their way out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What blockchain is St. Jude's on? BASE. The same chain as Meme Asylum and $ECT.
Is there a hard cap on the collection? No. It is an open edition — the mint runs until the team closes it.
Do I need ECT to mint? Standard mints require payment. Section 17 passes allow free mints. Watch the Meme Asylum X and Telegram accounts for pass drops.
What makes T5 cards different from T1 in the game? Card Power. A T5 card contributes up to 10 points to the Ward Watch meter. A T1 contributes between 1 and 6. But ten T1s playing together can out-push one T5 — the game rewards turnout not just inventory.
Can I play any card regardless of which wallet I'm in? Alignment matters. Some characters always feed the riot regardless of who holds them. Some always feed the defence. The Shrink and The Chaplain are neutral and follow the holder's side. Check alignment before playing.
What is the ECT 1/1 frame? The Electroconvulsive frame is the rarest frame in the collection. One per character, ten in existence total. Not available through minting — released separately via auction.
What is a Section 17 pass? A free mint pass distributed through community giveaways. Four types exist ranging from a standard T1-T3 mint to a Golden pass that unlocks a special 1/1 character.
